The Elegance Of Linen Napkins

There is nothing more pleasing to the eye than a table set with a linen tablecloth and napkins, fine china and sterling silverware. Linen napkins can be purchased at department stores or bed and bath shops. Many people collect vintage linens and find them at antique stores or even yard sales. Imagine the thrill of finding a set in good condition that perfectly matches your tablecloth and even has your initials embroidered on them. If you provide them with good care, you should be able to pass linen napkins down to future generations in your own family.

Linen napkins can be washed in a conventional washing machine in cold water on the delicate setting. Hot water entails too much of a risk for rust spots from old pipes in a house. Then iron the napkins while they are still damp. For stubborn stains, try using a product called Linen Wash, which is a non-detergent liquid soap made for antique linens.
